Fascinating yellow and orange tipped flowers adorn the delicate twining stems of these vines. Manetia can be wrapped on circular wreaths in 6" pots, or can be grown on trellises in 8 to 12" pots. Flowering begins about November, when the days are short. It continues to bloom through May or June.

While not related to azaleas, this African plant has a heavy flowering habit and long anthers, which gives an azalea-like appearance when it blooms. And bloom it does. Ruttya never stops blooming all year, making it an ideal patio container plant. They also tolerate a wide range of soil pH. Large spotted 1" flowers are borne in terminal clusters. Hummingbirds use the nectar filled floral tubes as feeding stations. These flowers actually look like small hummingbirds when viewed from the side.
